We finally made it home after seven (7) long years. We brought the cruise ship home like we had planned but it wasn't as fantastic as we had planned. We did love it and had a great time but we just wanted to get home. We left Sydney on April 14, 2008 and arrived in Los Angeles on May 14, 2008. We tour all the South Pacific Islands we wanted to but our favorite was probably Fiji. We loved seeing the Temple sitting on the highest point of the Island. It was a Sunday so we were only able to go up to it. He hailed a taxi and had him take us right up to the front gate. It was beautiful and the view looking back to the ocean was incredible with the cruise ship in the background. It was a very large beautiful ship. After we left the temple, we had the taxi driver just drive us around the island to see the sights. It was beautiful.
Our next favorite Island was the Cook Islands. We were on the main island of Roratunga (I think that is the right name). It is an oval island with a rode that goes completely around it. Kelly and I rented scooters and rode around the whole island with stops to walk along the beach. The water was very blue and beautiful. We now wish we would have taken our shoes off and walked in the water or better yet, went swimming in it. It was a warm day and with the beautiful water, we should have went swimming. We had decided though that our resort was the cruise ship so we would just go swimming when we got back, and swimming we did. I have many stories and pictures to post but that will come later.
We are in our new house and I am back at work. When we get more settled and organized, I will write more and post some pictures. For now, bon voyage
